Immigration

Who doesn’t love their motherland?

But sometimes, we look for a place where we can find better opportunities, and when it really comes down to choosing a country to live in, Canada is undoubtedly most immigrant’s first choice. Known as a paradise for immigrants, It not only boasts a strong economy and great quality of life, but is culturally so diverse and accepting that it feels closest to home. Not just that, Canada has always held a reputation for being an immigrant friendly nation. It wants you and lowers the barriers for you to obtain a Permanent Residensy, be it the variety of immigration programs, plethora of job opportunities, or the fact that you can become a Canadian citizen within a three years of getting your PR.

Here are just a few reasons of immigrating to Canada:

  • A safe and secure environment: Safety is any immigrant’s first concern, even before job opportunities. Canada is one of the safest countries, and its cities often rank in the safest cities to live in the world. The Economists ranked Canada as the most peaceful country in the world in 2007. Immigrants with a PR are further protected under the Canadian Charter 6.
  • Medical Benefits: Canada has a universal healthcare program, which is directly funded through taxes, and takes care of your medical expenses to a large extent. It is been known to provide its citizens with the most affordable healthcare, the best in the world. Once you receive a PR, or become a Canadian National, you can receive basic healthcare services free of cost.
  • Fast-Paced Economy: The economy of Canada is always on the rise. The government is always looking for ways to boost the economy further, and not surprisingly, immigrants contribute very significantly to the economy of Canada. Thanks to immigrants, Canada has seen ten folds of growth. How you may ask? Well, immigrant workers fill the gaps in the labor market, and also contribute to the economy by spending on their daily household needs. A major chunk of the immigrant population is relatively young. Being active and healthy, they contribute to the economy more than they receive. A fun fact here is that Canada has one of the highest naturalization rates in the world, with 85% newcomers becoming citizens.
  • A multicultural and Welcoming Society:Looking at the figures of the immigrants that enter Canada each year, it is no surprise that the immigrant population covers a wide spectrum of nationalities. You are sure to find people from your nation in Impetusforfuture country. It is one of the most inclusive and welcoming countries in the world. This does not just mean that the locals are friendly, but that there are people from different nationalities even in the cabinet and parliament in Canada. There is no political party in the country that has any anti-immigrant policies as well, unlike North America and Europe. Now that you’re aware of the advantages, let’s look at some of the ways you can obtain a visa in this Impetusforfuture country.
  • Working in Canada is nothing short of a dream come true. Being the most educated country in the world and having a literacy rate of a whopping 99%, there is no dearth of opportunities for aspiring job seekers. With the promise of fair salaries and an excellent quality of life, there’s no question as to why it is an immigrant's choice of country to work in. The employee benefits are never-ending; you get pension, parental leaves, employment insurance, PTO, affordable healthcare and what not. If you’re skilled and hoping to immigrate, Canada is looking for you! Let’s look at some of the ways through which you can get a Work Permit.

1.Permanent Residence Process:

A Permanent Resident (PR) is a five-year multiple entry visa granted to foreign nationals. This allows them to live in Canada on a long term basis. Life's a breeze for people with a PR, because they enjoy most of the benefits given to Canadian citizens.

They can work, study and live anywhere in Canada with zero restrictions, and are protected under Canadian Law. Let’s look at some benefits of having a PR:

  • 1. Makes you eligible for a Canadian Citizenship after you complete 3 years.
  • 2. Gives you the opportunity of availing free education for your children.
  • 3. Affordable Health Care.
  • 4. Ability to sponsor your family members to come and live with you.
  • 5. No restrictions on the work you do, or the province you choose to live in. Change anytime.
  • 6. Unemployment benefits during the time of a crisis or pandemic.

THE ABSOLUTE PR PROCESS

STEP 1: Eligibility Inspection:

For your application to even be eligible for a PR, you must meet certain requirements. There is a 100 point federal system, where you must get at least 67 points to obtain a PR. This shows how far you are meeting the PR Visa requirement.

Let’s look at what they are:

  • Age: There is no specified age-limit, but candidates who are younger are given more preference, and more points.
  • Education: The applicant must have secondary school education that matches the Canadian immigration standards. To ensure this, the applicant has to get an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to show that their education is on par with the Canadian standards.
  • Language Proficiency: There are two major languages spoken in Canada- English and French. For any applicant looking to obtain a PR, he must prove that he can speak and comprehend either English or French, by appearing for either IELTS or TEF respectively. The better the score, the more points you receive.
  • Work Experience: The applicant must have worked for at least a year in the country he’s applying from. Please note that the work should be full-time in nature, which is a minimum of 30hrs a week.
  • Adaptability: How quickly you can adapt to the country also increases your points. If you’ve already studied/ worked in Canada, or simply have a blood relation in the country, your points go up here.
  • ECA Approval: The government now evaluates your educational background to test whether it meets the Canadian educational standards. Getting approval here indicates that you are skilled and will be an asset to the economy of Canada.

STEP 2: Express Entry Account:

The Express Entry Account System was introduced by the IRCC in 2015 to help accelerate the application process for skilled workers. Before this system was introduced, Canada used to take in applicants based on first come, first serve. This caused many skilled workers to wait for years to obtain their PR. Now, using this system the government processes visas as quickly as 6 months, compared to the old 6 year long waiting period.

  • Once you complete the basic prerequisites, the federal government decides if you are eligible for applying for a PR through an express entry. If yes, you will be notified to create an Express Entry account.
  • This account will contain all your documents and where you will have to enter all your details, from your age and work experience, to your score in a language proficiency test (usually IELTS).
  • To declaration of funds your express entry account allows you to not only submit your documents, but also to pay for your application and check your application status. You will have 60 days to complete your profile and submit it.

STEP 3: CRS Score

CRS stands for Comprehensive Ranking System. Based on the details submitted through the Express Entry form, an application decision is made by adding all your points and giving you a CRS score.

  • If you made the minimum CRS score required for a PR, you will be invited to apply for a PR and proceed further.
  • Every two weeks on an average, the Canadian Government selects the candidates with the highest CRS scores from the Express Entry pool, and provides them with an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
  • In case your score is low, no need to fret. You can take the PNP route to increase your score.

Contact us to know if you are eligible for an Express Entry, and fast track your way to a PR! with Impetusforfurture.

STEP 4: ITA (Invitation To Apply)

After you fill in all your personal details and submit relevant documents, you will receive a CRS score from the federal government. Based on how good your score is, the Canadian government invites you to apply for a PR.This invitation comes in the form of an official document called “Invitation to Apply”. Once a candidate receives his ITA, they are given 60 days to apply.

The government usually tries to approve the candidate for a PR within 6 months. If all goes well, you receive your PR authorization.

STEP 5: Biometics

The last step simply involves you to pay a fee for your biometrics, after which your passport is stamped with a PR, and you’re ready to fly to Canada your dream.

2. Express Entry:

Being an immigrant’s favorite choice of country, and receiving a whopping amount of visa applications every day is no easy task.

The Express Entry Program was introduced to streamline and better manage the applications flowing in on a daily basis, and to reduce the turn-around time by the government to make application decisions. The IRCC used this program to pool applicant’s into categories and invite them to apply for a PR. Once they are invited, their application is swiftly transferred to the Canadian immigration authorities through the online portal of the EE, making the entire process agile.

Candidates that apply through the Express Entry Program can be rest assured that they are in a very good position of securing a PR. Further, we can always try to boost your CSR score. Some ways to do so can be:

3) Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

The PNP is an additional fast track pathway through the Express Entry Program. As the name suggests itself, this program is for candidates who are recommended, or nominated by a Canadian Province. Canada has 10 provinces and three territories. The Provincial Nominee Program was devised to help every Canadian province meet its demographic and economic needs to boost the overall economy. A province could target students, entrepreneurs/ business owners, skilled workers, or semi-skilled workers. Depending on the requirement, each province can nominate certain skilled and semi-skilled candidates to receive a visa to live in their province.

You can choose the province you’d like to settle in after receiving your PR, and express an interest in settling there in your Express Entry Account. If the province selects you, it will send a ‘Notification of Interest’ to your account, after which you can be in direct contact with them.

Let’s look at the provinces and their PNP programs in brief

  • Alberta: Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) Under this program, there are eight streams targeted at two main categories: one for workers and the rest for entrepreneurs.
  • British Columbia: British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) This program consists of the Skills Immigration, Express Entry BC and Entrepreneur Immigration Streams.

3. Super Visa:

So you are living in Canada with a PR Visa great. But what if you’d like to have your parents/ grandparents come live with you too? This is where the Super Visa comes in the picture. Devised by the Canadian government to assist permanent residents in reuniting with their family, this route provides for parents and grandparents to visit the permanent resident for duration of 2 years. You can simply apply for a visitor visa in case your family wishes to visit you for 6 months or less.

Unlike the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), the super visa doesn't need constant renewals, and stays for a longer period of time. It allows multiple entries into Canada for upto 10 years. However, certain conditions must be met to be eligible for this visa for which we are there. For instance, you must give an immigration medical exam, and have medical insurance.n order to obtain a Super visa, the following documents are mandatory:

1. A Letter of Invitation (LoI) from a child/ grandchild who is either a Canadian National or a Permanent Resident. The said person should also promise 100% financial support during your stay in Canada in writing.

2. Proof that your child/ grandchild has the income to support you. The government will ask for their employment Insurance stubs and other bank statements.

3. Proof of payment of Medical Insurance.

4. A document that confirms that the candidate has had an immigration medical exam.

The approval rating for a Super Visa is usually 83%. It will take about 8 weeks for your visa to get processed. Applying for a Super Visa online saves a lot of hassle, and is processed faster. Additionally, in case the government asks for more documents, you can upload them seamlessly. The Super Visa process can be confusing and slightly complicated for applicants. We can help you complete the process faster, with a high success rate. There is nothing worse than having your application rejected after months of hard work.
